Feelin' pretty LUCKY!

I'm feelin' pretty lucky right now to have these guys in my life & my biggest guy in my life!
A leprechaun snuck into our house this morning & left us with a green breakfast! Green eggs, ham, toast, & milk.
And I'm also feelin' pretty lucky because...

Yay!

Water Fun

I am a firm believer that when you work hard, you get to play hard. Last weekend we worked hard on our house, so this weekend, we got to play hard! We went to the North Clackamas Aquatic Center & swam our little hearts away:)

Porter & Hudson loved jumping the waves in the wave pool.

Brody just went along for the ride!

He loved going down the slide.

And splashing!

Hudson loved diving in the water.

Porter was swimmin' like crazy!

This kid loves the water!

Hudson would swim around pretending he was a shark.
I like working hard so I can play hard!

More Field Trips!

This past week has been the week of field trips! I'm ok with that. Field trips are a fun way to learn! On Wednesday, I took my preschool to the fire station. It was a lot of fun, but the boys seemed way more interested in everything than the girls:)

The firefighter checked Porter & Hudson's oxygen levels.

This firefighter got all dressed up in his gear.

Then on Thursday, we headed to the library with our home school group. Mark Nelson, chief meteorologist for FOX 12 News came & talked to the kids!
Porter & Hudson did an awesome job sitting quietly the whole time. I had to sneak Brody toys & treats to keep him quiet, but what do you expect? He's two! Anyways, it was really interesting & Porter even asked Mark a question. I was very impressed!

Kick-off to Spring!

Friday night, the boys had a sleep-over in the play room. They had hot dogs & popcorn & watched Brother Bear. They got to have a sleepover because...

I was busy painting! Both their rooms got a fresh coat of paint. Actually, Brody's room had never been painted before,  & I was so over the bright white walls!
This is what Brody's room looked like when I called it a night at 11:30 pm. I had a lot left to do on Saturday!

On Saturday while I was feverishly painting so the boys would have a room to sleep in that night, Brandon did yard work & Brody helped him plant some flowers.
Here's the finished products!

Brody's room
Now that Brody's room is painted, I can say that I have painted every square inch of this house!
Porter & Hudson's room.
I painted over the colorful stripes I had initially painted on their walls. Both rooms I painted Lyndhurst Stone, which I have throughout my house, so it all flows.
This weekend was the kick-off to a Spring full of projects! I have a huge list of spring cleaning, organizing, landscaping, de-cluttering, etc... that I want to get done before May!

Bob's Red Mill

On Thursday, we went with our home school group on a field trip to tour Bob's Red Mill!

They got to watch corn being ground into corn meal.

I think it was pretty interesting for them. And I think seeing the grain being ground had meaning for them because they help/watch me grind my own wheat to make bread. They understand that bread just doesn't come from the store. It starts out as wheat kernels that have to be ground into flour, then made into bread. You'd be surprised how many kids don't know that!

Here's one of the stones that grinds the grain.

They got to take a stalk of wheat ...

separate the kernels from the rest of it...

and then grind those kernels!

And a visit to Bob's Red Mill can not be done without eating at the store! Yum!

What a fun field trip!

A little of everything...

Porter & Hudson love to do quiet time together. If they stay quiet, I don't mind. They are such great buddies! Their favorite thing to do is build with Legos. One day for quiet time I let them watch a movie on our portable DVD player. They made a fort to watch the movie in!

I love how they are best of friends!

Last Saturday, we went to a movie as a family (Brody included!) Jen, Morgan & Jordyn came with us. We went to the Northern Lights theater & spent $12 for our whole family!  Can't beat that!
We saw this movie:

No pants & diaper have become a very regular thing for Brody... especially when he is playing outside! Brrrr!

Snuggling my not-so-much-a-baby-anymore. If he lets me, I jump at the chance to snuggle this guy!

These guys love helping with the dishes! (I love Brody! He was arranging & re-arranging tupperware the whole time! So funny!)

Porter got to go on a field trip to Gilbert House Museum on Friday with our home school group. Since I was teaching Preschool, one of my friends took him. She said he had an absolute blast!

Today was Porter's last basketball game! He learned a lot this season & had so much fun playing!

Then we went to Red Robin to celebrate!

We go to Red Robin for the food. Brody goes there for the balloon:)
