My Daddy and Me

I just want to say what a cool dad I have. He is the best dad in the whole world! He took me and Hudson on a fun camp out tonight. It was soooooooo fun!
My dad made a HUGE bonfire to roast hot dogs.

We ate by camp lantern, because of course it was dark outside!

No camp-out can be complete without roasting s'mores.

Mmmmmmmm.... gooey goodness!

They sure were messy, but the messier, the better. That's my motto!

Daddy set up our tent in the wild jungle.

Then we watched the bears in the wilderness called Brother Bear... I think daddy was scared that a bear was going to get in our tent!

It's past my bedtime, so Good Night!

I'm looking forward to our next camp out, Dad.

Love,
Porter

Another Great Target Deal!

I love Target! I paid $7.05 for all of this!

At Safeway, I got all of this for $11.52 and got a $3 catalina. The incredible thing is that the milk alone was $9.56! I had coupons for "buy a gallon of milk, get $2 off Honey Bunches of Oats." The HBO were on sale for $2 each, so I got the cereal for FREE! (not to mention the $3 catalina I got from "buying" them!)

The Nicest. Weather. Ever.

We have been having the nicest weather here! I love it! It's been sunny and in the 60's. All of us have enjoyed being outside breathing in the fresh air. Brandon mowed our lawn on Friday b/c the grass was sooooo long. I love freshly cut grass and the smell of it! I just hope this weather continues!

I bought these granola bars and cereal at Albertsons. 10 boxes of Life cereal and 25 boxes Granola bars. I spent $9!!!! That's 25 cents per box!
3 containers of wipes and a timer toothbrush from Babies R Us. The grand total for all of this: 98 cents!

It Just Keeps Getting Better!!!

DISCLAIMER: If you are getting tired of all of my savings posts, I will not be offended if you skip them. I am just so excited when I find great deals! I am glad to have a place to be able to share my excitement!

Last week I did this deal at Target and got 2 Herbal Essence Gels, 3 Olay body washes, 2 boxes Hefty One-Zip bags, Travel Size Herbal Essence Shampoo & Cond., and 2 Venus Embrace Razors. I spent $18.41, saved $38.77, and received a $5 Target gift card for buying the razors and received a $5 Target gift card for buying the body washes. Then, in this weeks paper, Olay advertised a $15 rebate if you buy 3 body washes. I thought since I bought these items last week, they would not qualify for the rebate, but when I checked, the rebate started Feb. 12 AND I HAD PURCHASED THE ITEMS ON FEB. 12TH!!! Talk about good luck! So.... with the gift cards and the rebate, I GOT PAID $6.59 TO TAKE THESE ITEMS HOME!!!! It doesn't get better than that!
Yesterday I went to Safeway and Albertsons and this is what I got: 3 boxes Corn Pops, 2 boxes Fruit Loops, 4 cans tomatoes, 5 cans tuna, 4 loaves of bread, 4 boxes of whole wheat pasta, and 2 Right Guard deodorants. I spent $12.86, saved $76.04 and received $5 in Catalinas (coupons you can use on your next transaction).
While I was at Albertsons, I bought about 15 lbs of skinless, boneless chicken breasts. They were on sale for 1.88/lb, which isn't the greatest price, but we were totally out of chicken and Safeway and Costco are more expensive, so I got enough to get us to the next great sale. The chicken was fresh, not frozen, so I didn't want to have to worry about freezing each breast individually, but I also didn't want to freeze them all together and have one huge chicken mass. This is what I decided to do:
A gal in my old ward gave me this idea and this is the first time I am trying it. I rinsed the chicken and put it in the crock pot. Added some salt and garlic, and I am in the process of cooking it on low for 6 hours. When it's done cooking, I'm going to shred half and cube half and put it in freezer bags in portions that I think my family will use in one sitting. Then I will have already cooked chicken to use for enchiladas, quesadillas, burritos, curry, chicken salad sandwiches... basically any recipe that calls for chicken! I'm excited to see how this works! And when I find an even better sale on chicken, I'm going to stock up and fill my freezer with this quick, already cooked chicken!

My Little Heartbreakers

I know I'm biased, but aren't they sooooooo cute?! Brandon and I are going to be in trouble in a few years, when the girls start knocking on our front door! I don't even want to think about it!

Hudson has mastered the "cheese" face now!

Since V-day was today (Sunday), we had a Valentine Party on Thursday for play group. The kiddos decorated Valentine bags, exchanged their Valentines, ate lunch, then got a Valentine cookie:)

This is a Valentine tradition I am starting:
I gave each of my boys their own jar filled with the things that I love about each one of them.

Hudson's Valentine goodies. He was the only one without a fleece blanket in our family, so I made this one for him.

Porter's Valentine goodies. I've had this Build & Play in my closet for over a year!!! I hadn't given it to him yet b/c Christmases and Birthdays he has already gotten soooo much stuff. He already has a set of these and LOVES them!

I Love You, Porter and Hudson! (and I can't forget Brandon, too!)

See what I told you. Hours of fun! And now we have 2 sets so they each have a drill.

As for me, Brandon gave me an early Valentine gift. A new phone! And it's even red (my fav. color) Thanks Honey! You always know just what I need! XOXO

Clifford came to the Children's Museum!

Porter was soooo excited to go to the Children's Museum and see the Clifford Exhibit. He loves Clifford!

He spent 90% of his time here, in Clifford's bowl.

Hudson sliding down Clifford's tail.

Emily Elizabeth's house

Porter turning the wheel, which moves the dog bones up the ramp, until they fall into Clifford's bowl. Seriously, Porter loved doing this! I'm kind of surprised!

Hi Clifford! We got to meet Clifford! Porter wasn't feeling well, and so he didn't want to get close to him, and for some reason Hudson was scared of Clifford, so the only way I could take a picture, was to have Brandon hold Hudson. (No luck with Porter at all. I feel bad b/c he definitely wasn't feeling good, otherwise he would have been all over meeting Clifford!)

Hudson in the Toddler room.

He LOVED the fish! (I should know that b/c when we go to WalMart I used to let Porter and Hudson look at the fish there. Not anymore b/c Hudson throws a huge FIT when we have to leave!)

My best DEAL yet!

6 jumbo packs of Huggies
2 jumbo packs of Pull-Ups
4 bottles Children's Tylenol
1 bottle Children's Motrin
1 bottle Extra Strength Tylenol
3 bottles Dove Men's Body Wash
2 Gillette Fusion Razors
16 Valentine Eraser-topped Pencils

And the Grand Total I payed for this is $44.95 (with $6 left in Register Rewards)! That's great and all, but what really blows my mind is what I saved... $129.51!!!!

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears! Oh MY!

We went to the zoo yesterday and had a blast! The weather was sooooo nice! It's hard to believe it's winter here because we have been having such nice weather! And a bonus is that the animals were very active and fun to watch! We ended up spending the whole day there with no naps, but Porter and Hudson LOVED it!

Out on the Farm

Giddy-Up Horsey!

It looks like a sheep, but it's actually a goat.

Lunch Time!

Lunch time didn't last very long b/c they wanted to go play.

It's hard to tell, but this is Porter looking at the lions. There is one male and two females lying on the rocks.

Tigers- we got to watch them playing together and rolling around. Usually they are napping when we come visit them.

Mesmerized by the Sea Lions (Our fav animal of the day! We spent a lot of time here.)

And a trip to the Portland Zoo can not be complete without playing in the huge sandbox!

What a fun day!
